Mobile App
Introduction
Project Goal
Tackle the wicked problem of sustainable nutrition by creating an app that offers solutions to the complex challenges of accessing local, organic food. The aim was to support local farmers, address issues of accessibility and convenience, and promote environmental sustainability.
Problem
Existing platforms lacked the ability to foster meaningful connections and customization for art enthusiasts. Users often struggled to find unique and personalized art experiences, leading to frustration and impersonal purchases.
Solution
Creating a user-centric e-commerce platform that seamlessly blended personalized interactions, vibrant aesthetics, and artist resonance. The platform offered a simplified order process, customization options, and effective artist communication. It reflected Klaus's retro-futuristic style, connected the community.
Empathize
Understanding our users’ desires, we found they struggled with pricing understanding, sought more information, and aimed to support farmers and the environment. Their primary concern, however, revolved around finding better locations and more convenient opening hours. This became the focal point of our efforts.
"In the last few decades, people have become more aware of the importance of good nutrition. But organic food is not accessible to everyone, and is often only available to people who can afford it. Supermarket chains and big food corporations benefit more from the rise of the organic food market than the local producers. Instead of fixing the problem, they are harming the environment with unsustainable models."
Stakeholder

In the Definition phase, we synthesized insights into a persona, Matthew.
Define
Ideate
We aim to deliver sustainable food packages from local farms through 24-hour pick-up stations, akin to Amazon Lockers, ensuring convenience with QR code scanning. Strategically located in accessible areas, these stations include cooling packs for freshness, allowing flexible pickups and eliminating the need for individual farmer deliveries, making our solution both accessible and sustainable.
Prototype
Prioritizing accessibility in our Low-Fi Sketches and Prototype, we initially emphasized Pick-Up Stations, addressing user confusion in map navigation and information retrieval through ongoing tests, resulting in continuous refinement.
Testing
Moving forward, we initiated the creation of a Mid-Fi version to enhance the design’s visual appeal. Currently, users can only select the Pick-Up Station variant in this version.

Refine Mid-Fi version
Assess user tests
Introduce additional features (e.g., “learning portal”)
Craft logo and brand design aligned with sustainability
Develop High-Fi prototype
Create a top-tier app for ordering local sustainable products
